Hey Guys:

I ordered my MCS on Aug 11. My MA immediately gave me a production number and said week 39.. OK

Then a week later I called ASK MINI and was told week 36, yea.

Today I called back and was told week 37, boooo

Are any of you guys getting bumped around like this?

At this point, I think I'm just going to try to ignor it all and sooner or later someone will call me and say come and get it.

YD

I think that's the nature of the first stages of production. You may get jostled around a bit until things solidify. Just try to hang in there!

I was told today at my dealer that I am in status 112 and scheduled for week 37. I bought 2 weeks ago this very sunday, which is the 13th of august.

that thread of week 36 should be joined to 37. I dont know about 39, I never heard of anyone on that week or a mentioning of it.

We started out supposedly in Week 31 and finally completed production last Friday, end of Week 34. Bounicing around seems to be the norm right now but hang in there, our MINI departed for the port yesterday...

Does BMW have two facilities in SC? One in Spartanburg where they build BMWs and one Vehicle Distribution Center where cars come off the boat?

hm, im quite close to that! I could watch it come in

Newark's port is a massive scary thing. That is where all of the whole, unchopped stolen vehicles go the day after they are stolen.

I do notice the lack of exactness in explaing my car's production week. I think there is some mix up and it is all hush hush. Something is out of whack delaying things but only seems to mean a 2 week swing difference.

I want mine for Halloween so I can put spooky things in the windows and go look at graves and bizarre sites.

I should be ordering my MCS tomorrow or thursday the latest. I want to do it soon because I know MINI is going to stop making these soon and I personally like the Gen2 style over the 2007's even if they are turbo (Gen 3?), call me crazy but I feel the aggressive look went out and is now more of a feminine appearence and lack of mods due to new platform.

100% agree.

bad idea. mini='s beauty to 90% of people out there. Performance is talked about here but really that is an afterthought for vast majority of people.

From my understanding from what my MA told me, late september is last call for the current gen and that MINI is going to really produce so dealers have inventory while Oxford is shut down for retooling.

That's pretty much what our dealer said. As it goes, I've never heard our production week mentioned, but ASKMINI says we should be finisihed by September 8th (we ordered Augusut 14th).
