She's Here! (Sort of)

Thanks to my frugality, I have to wait for a check to come from an out-of-town bank (great rates, though!). Luckily, my dealer (Jen at Patrick) was kind enough to take me to my baby. Still had the plastic on the seats. I'm expecting the check to come tomorrow, but this is worse than Christmas.

Nice Car! Great color combo. Waiting is so awful but it won't be long now.

Yeah, when she was on the boat or on a truck, I at least knew she was thousands of miles away.

I can't imagine how west coasters feel now, or how everybody did a couple of years ago. I almost bought a MINI in '03, but the long waits, and the fact that I stupidly bought a different car, held me back. One more night...and then 1250 long miles...

They won't let you take it without having the check in hand? In all of my car buying experience, including the pickup of my MC @ Long Beach MINI, as long as the buyer comes back and delivers payment within 7 days you're fine. Or is that just at the dealer's discretion?

I did the same thing!! Hopefully the check arrives early this morning via FedEx and I can hit the road to go pick up my Mini today!!

As to the other post about dealers not letting you have the car and paying within seven days, it's the same with my dealer....they want check in hand, and the whole reason I'm having to wait for a cashiers check is that they would not accept a promisary check from the bank.

My car arrived at the dealer late friday......the wait is killing me!!!!!
