Hi there, first time Mini owner here. After owning Ma Fratelli, an '02 bugeye Subaru WRX upgraded to a "stage 2 STI kit" that I drove over 100k miles until the frame rusted out, I ended up with a '13 Crosstrek for a couple months until I hit a deer and totalled it. Looking for another reliable fuel efficient AWD that can fit a 6'6" dude and 3 other family members, and hoping for something more fun, led me to the F60.

I just bought Calypso, a flirtatious yet classy Melting Silver Metallic 2017 F60 S ALL4. She is well-endowed: fully loaded with 19" premium wheels. The PO took great care of her and had very few issues since 2017. She even just had her engine mount replaced and some brake work done. I used some airline miles to fly one-way 10 hours away hoping she checked out and I could drive her back. She did, and I got 34 mpg going 75-80 most of the way back, with no issues.

She has some custom coding, an AEM cold air intake, and currently runs a bit lean. And probably needs a new MAF despite me carefully cleaning it (thread to come). Next up is a tune, hopefully from @adriancl

I really love this car.

Lean issue fixed, it ended up that one side of the air filter had slipped off the intake pipe slightly from the previous owner I bought it from. He offered to install it for me when I bought it - he's an indie mechanic - so I never disassembled it to inspect anything. Easy fix.

I love easy fixes - they do not happen often, but when they do - such a joy !
