New Member: Daughter Bought Mini = I'm A Mini Mechanic In Training

Hello all,

My daughter bought a 2010 Clubman. It began having issues right away. I'm hoping to learn from your experience before pulling too much of my already thinning hair out.
Looking forward to chatting with you all.

Take care, Bob

Sorry your introduction is through issues. Is the Clubman a turbo or non-turbo model? What are the issues?

As a start, you're going to want to get yourself a proper code reading tool, like a Foxwell scanner. The generic OBD code readers will not read the BMW/Mini specific DTC codes.

+1 get a scanner.

Thanks for the reply. I had forgotten about making this post when I registered. Work has been nuts, but I've been trying to learn my way around the Mini when I can.

I just started a topic with where I'm at and what I have done on the car here

I installed bimmerlink on my phone and purchased the bluetooth dongle. It is much more detailed than the generic scanner I already had. I don't know how it compares to Foxwell that you recommended. I'll see if I can find a features comparison between the two online. Hoping I didn't waste money buying the wrong thing, lol.
