I'm a new Mini owner ('09 Clubman S) and am curious as to how the Mini has changed from year to year. When I see one on the street how can I know the year etc. and is there a site that discusses the changes from year to year as well as photos?

If not, can the members here post pictures of your Mini for a particular year and state what you know about the changes from the previous year. When we get enough pictures and information maybe it can be compiled into a thread that goes thru the years in an ordered fashion for easy reference.

Thanks...

How far back to you want to go? The conception of the Mini in 1959, or when BMW released the redesign 2001?

I've seen a link posted once to a buyer's guide that had all the first gen cars laid out with differences and changes made from model to model. Not sure where it is. Somebody is bound to have it and will post it.

YAMA CAT,

Thanks for posting that link! I did see that before but, unless I missed something, it doesn't really get into much detail. What I was hoping for is something that describes what was definitive and distinct about each years production so that when I happen upon one I can identify what year the vehicle was.

Hopefully owners will post pictures showing their past Minis and give descriptions about them. What better way to learn the history of the vehicle then from actual owners!

That would be really tough to do. Since there were multiple companies making the 'Mini' throughout the years. Including a few not even in England.
