Mini Cooper s slave cylinder inlet Washer question.

Hi all, I am in the process of installing a new slave cylinder, but with every instruction I have seem, it all mentioned about a small plastic washer, which I cant find anywhere, "The plastic connector on the input pipe has a small black washer that extends down to the tip of the input pipe (maybe 1/2 cm deep)" and I looked everywhere it's not there, all I can see is a black easy clip on plastic clip at the end of the inlet pipe, and on it there were no washer, please advice.

Mine Look exactly the same as figure 7 on this link nothing more nothing less: http://www.pelicanparts.com/techarti...eplacement.htm

There is a rubber grommet that fits between the slave cylinder and the fluid line, without that the slave will not seal.

If your car was operational prior to the job then it was in place, so I would look in the end of the old slave for a little rubber grommet. The grommet will either stay attached to the line, or will come off in the slave.

The grommet is not a purchasable item, you will need to buy the section of line marked #13 if you cannot find it,

After put everything back, and bled the system. The pedal definately more solid. But still not as good as before. And still hard to engage from time to time. And biting point is still quite far down. Might still have air trapped inside? Which didnt come out during the bleeding process?

Here's the brake bleeding tip one more time. Pump the peddle 3 or 4 times and keep it to the floor using a piece of wood wedged between the bottom of the seat and the peddle. Leave it there for 24 hours. Then pull the stick out and pump the peddle 3-4 times and you should have normal peddle operation. The slave cylinder is a ***** to bleed all of the air out. This methods works.

You need the MINI specialty tool to bleed the slave quickly and properly.
