So Tiny is asking for service. I have read that you one can save some cash by DIY but I must admit to not being very handy. Does anyone take their baby to an independent mechanic or do the other non-DIY head to the dealer? Just looking for the most affordable option.

If you are in the MINI Club, the discounts you get at MINI of St. Louis make them fairly competitive.

IMO unless it is under warranty, take it to an independent MINI shop or buy the Bentley manual and learn to do it yourself.

How much of a discount do you get with the mini club membership?

I've been thinking of this question myself having newly brought my MINI to the St. Louis area, trying to find well-reviewed indy shops but I'm not finding much. Bavarian on Olive looks to have pretty good reviews though

Yes the discount is 20% and yet depending on what the issue is there have been small get together for repairs. I have done several at my place including full suspension replacement.
