I just bought and installed one in my r57 auto and it said in the instructions that you just have to flip the switch on that to either “a” for auto or “m” for manual trans. If that helps anyone.
...and i have it set at 9 race all the time and LOVE IT. I dont want to ever drive this car again without it.

VIDEO on Installing a Sprint Booster. For those interested in a Sprint Booster V3, here's a handy video on how to install it.

If you have any questions, please give Mini Mania a call at 800-946-2642.
Hope this helps.

I installed a V3 in my '11 R57-S.
I left it set on the default which was Race-5.
Between that and the J+B box; this car is plenty of fun.

Sprint Boosters really do "put the fun back in driving" don't they. I have a Grand Cherokee Laredo that went from "I like this car" to "I LOVE this car". World of difference.

I have a trio of Fiat 500's; prior to doing the flash tune on the Turbo I ran the Sprint Booster with a piggy back. Then the 500C inherited the Sprint Booster.
Also have a 500E (100% electric), it needs nothing, it's a little torque monster...

If your sprint booster is a V3, there's a switch on the side that is "A" or "M". Just switch it to whichever one you need. (I believe the V2s work the same way.)

You haven’t cleared up if this is for a manual or an automatic. Since it’s a version 2 we need this last bit of information to decide. If this was for a manual I would pay pal you in a heart beat.

i called the customer support for sprintbooster, and because it doesn't have a sticker on it with a pn, the couldn't tell me which one i had, when i explained how it functioned on my auto countryman, they said it must be for a manual then. so all in all you take your chances. i'd be willing to offer a refund if it doesn't work, if it gets shipped back to me, but also there im taking my chances as well...integrity first right?

Totally on the same page. I’ll take it. If it doesn’t work out for me as I have a manual then you know it’s for an Auto and i’ll ask for a refund. If it works then i just picked up a good deal! Thanks so much.

Received, Installed, and keeping. It was/is for a manual and what a difference it makes. Thanks for the sale and speedy shipping! Green mode for regular driving brings the fun back and Race mode makes you say holy $h!t!

Auto Sprintbooster will only work on an auto trans. I have a V3 in the R53 and had it in Auto setting when I hooked it up. The car ran very poorly until I realised my error 10 seconds after start up. I have one in my BMW and Mercedes. Great little gadgets. My guess is yours is for an Auto trans. As for it being touchy. Im guessing you had it in race mode (red light) green is much more civil and ultimately you can just turn it off.
I would refrain from my matter of fact comment have it not the seller admit it is too touchy for his liking.

Yes, that is a V2
The V3 has 9 settings and detects the transmission automatically. Fuel too.
The V2 is a great product, just as many bells and whistles such as Valet mode and pedal lock mode.
Nevertheless, you'll love what it can do for you car.
