Quick question about oil service indicator.

One year ago I took my '10 MCS with 18K miles to Mini Service to get an oil change. The oil service indicator did NOT come on. I just wanted more frequent oil changes.

A year later, this month, the oil service indicator came on with 20.5K miles.

Can I assume that at my last oil change Mini did not reset the oil service? Hard to imagine I really need an oil change now.

Thanks

It tells you to change your oil after a year no matter how many miles

Just be sure you perform oil changes every 5000-6500 miles and ignore the oil service indicator, the oil service indicator is programmed with insane 10,000 mile oil changes! If it were a Toyota 10,000 miles would be fine, turbo charged engines get more blow-by (contamination into oil) and generate heat like no other NA engine.

Thanks for confirming what I thought.
