Lost my comfort Access Mini Key...
I was changing the brakes on my 2007 Mini and somehow lost my key while I was doing the job. I haven't left the property, but was sidetracked by a few phone calls and wandered around like a moron. I have torn the garage and house upside down looking and am now at wits end. Before I have to shell out THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS for a new one my question is: since the key has some kind of radio transmitter device inside it that the "comfort access" system can read, is there some way I can find the key, or at least narrow down the search area, using some kind of scanner or something? There must be some smart person here who would know how to figure this out.

+1 on the start up engine roll around, I hope the additional battery is ok in the comfort access key. That's the ones that controls the CA function. Good luck and I really hope you find it.

Thanks, I tried to find the key by moving the car, but no dice. I had seen a post on here by someone who was using an "arduino" board to read his key, and thought there might be some way to rig up a "key detector" that would at least help me narrow the search. With the price of these keys, a key detector would be a good invention, I know i would buy one!
