'08 Convertible w/ non functioning Aux Input jack
Hi All,
Newbie here.. I looked around and did not see a similar thread so here I am. Bought a used '08 convertible S Monday. #1 goal is to get Pandora via my iPhone playing on the radio.
I have (I think) the H/K sound system (see photo). I also have an AUX INPUT plug in the glove box (see photo).
The aux input jack does not seem to do anything. I do not seem to have an option for "aux input" when I scroll through the radio inputs. I get "CD" and "FM" and "AM" but no AUX. I tried to plug my phone into it and see if an active source would wake it up, no dice.
The dealer seems equally confused about this. I got several stories from including "it needs a cable" to "something might be wrong w/ the radio".
Any thoughts / help on this?
I bought the car prepared to replace the radio if needed to get this to work. If I can make it work w/ my existing radio that would be great.
Thanks!
John

Hello,
In 08' on the R52 Convertibles I believe this came standard and they moved the aux input into the glove box, my guess is that the cable between the two came unpluged or someone added a CD changer or something else that took its location. Pull the radio out and see if its unpluged or if you can get behind the plug in the glove box from under the foot well.
