Planning head unit upgrade for R52 - questions

Howdy all
07 MCS Cabriolet
I want a new head unit with Bluetooth. I don't care to use the steering wheel controls because I never used them before. I have the Harmon Kardon system.
So, I have to install a new head unit and then decide if I'm going to replace all the speakers and add a new amplifier. I read that the amp was under the passenger seat. I surely don't see it there. Its probably in the read passenger side (behind the panel). Has anyone tried to put an aftermarket amplifier into the stock position and cobble the power to it from the existing harness? Next week I'm going to disassemble and track the route of the current harness and speaker wire and see just what a job this shall be. I've searched the forum and internet and there just not a ton of info out there. Will probably eBay the stock amplifier and whatever else I remove. Anyway if I decide to do this I'll be sure to make either a video or picture record of the project.
Phil

You can get Blue Tooth without changing the head unit:

Well alright then! Ordered the last one from Amazon - this one is marked as Audiovox. I guess I will see how the MediaBridge works. Again, as with the Blitzsafe I put in the E46 I'll try to have good pics. Thanks for the advice c0op3r!!
