Wow! A large scale DS/B MCS with a working sunroof! That's my car exactly, and I've been looking for this for a while! Where did you find this and how much was it? TIA.

I picked it up from a company in Derby, UK back in May of 03. The vendor was called Mad 4 Models and has since gone out of business (I think??). If you'll do a search on Mini2 for the vendor name you might find the full story, but I believe they were a very small reseller and lost their lease on the store front and moved the business into their house. Shipping became slow and orders were lost and lots of negative comments were made on the board about them. I haven't followed the thread anymore so I don't know what the outcome was.
It appears to be a stock type item though, the invoice describes it as:
"Kyosho 1/18th scale BMW New Mini Cooper S Dealer Edition - it was 43.74 pounds plus shipping.
I am looking for a Hot Orange MINI Cabrio. I know there are some out there, including MINI's 1:18 scale one for $65.
I have seen pics of the Hot Wheels version, but cannot find one in person. Is the color close to the actual thing? Does anyone know of other Hot Orange Cabrio's out there(other brands) or where I can order one online? (I have seen a couple of Cabrio's on eBay and the pic looks like an orange car, but it isn't a pic of the actual item up for bid and the seller never answers my question about the color.)
Any help appreciated!

How thick is your wallet feeling today? A 1:12, made by Kyosho, can be ordered from your MINI dealer.
Here are pics of the hobby shop (non-dealer) version, which is red. Part numbers for the dealer colors are:
80 43 0 391 975 : MINI COOPER CABRIO : HOT ORANGE
80 43 0 391 976 : MINI COOPER CABRIO : COOL BLUE
80 43 0 391 977 : MINI COOPER CABRIO : ASTRO BLACK
yes it's the same color, and I found mine at KB toy store. also found the smaller version of the red and the blue Convertibles. I paid $20 for the orange one.
I picked up the orange Hot Wheels cabrio at a Walmart - check the bottom shelves.
I have checked the Wal-Mart stores around us and they seem to carry every type of toy car, truck, etc EXCEPT MINI's.
My wife and I have a saying about the Wal-Mart stores near us: "This would be a good place to open a Wal-Mart." It doesn't matter what it is you go to the store to buy, our Wal-Mart will not have it. They recently opened a SuperCenter-now there is more stuff you are not looking for, and more space for the stuff you want, but they don't carry. We recently went to buy a new microwave, and the shelf with the demo microwaves was half empty, and there was no stock on the shelves. We asked if they had any in back waiting to be brought out. Nope, and they weren't sure if they would receive any the next day either.
The KB Toy store closest to us(50 miles) is pretty small, but I check it whenever I am in Cape Girardeau.

Yea, does the interior look more red?
I thought that when i bought mine!

Yep, it's red. I went to a craft store and bought some copper(metallic) and Georgia Clay colored paints and mixed them until i had a close match to Hot Orange and then painted the dash/door trim to match my car. I still need to paint the seats so they aren't red anymore. I don't have any pics, but will try to get some this weekend and post them.
I then used the same mix and painted some blank Cooper Contacts from MotorSwag to put on Gromit. After putting a gloss coat over the paint to protect it, they are a little darker then the paint on the car, but still pretty close.
