As much fun as it is to drive, sometimes you just need to get out of the car.

Sorry if the images don't load properly, there's an issue with the NAM site preventing them from displaying and I was hoping they would have fixed it by now, in the mean time you can click the links and view them on my Flickr, sorry for the inconvenience but hopefully they get the issue resolved soon since it works properly on every other forum I'm on

Great shots xstartxtodayx! I was looking at your website, how do you do the car photo's in motion? Do you have some sort of jig that you attach to the car?

Thanks! they're done with a rig which consists of 3 pieces of 5' aluminum tubing that screws together, that gets held on to the car with 2 high power suction cups made for this sort of thing, then the camera gets hung from the end of the rig with another specialty part. The shot is deceiving, most times the car isn't even on (to avoid vibrations), we'll just roll the car a few feet (a slight hill always helps) and keep the shutter open for anywhere from 1.5-3 seconds, that gives the illusion of speed. After that it's time to pull your hair out cloning the rig out in photoshop all well worth it though

From yesterday...

oooh looks like a pre MTTP cruise to Montauk btw, I've seen a couple other modified Mini's in the Riverhead/North Fork area lately. By the aquarium I saw a grey R53 that was a bit low on what almost looked like polished CCW's, then yesterday morning I saw a very low R53 in Aquebogue on black wheels, don't remember the color though since it was a last second spot.

And since this is the Mini Photography thread here's a couple more pics...

This one's not mine; it's a loaner that my dealer gave me while getting my new one ready for delivery. Kinda surprised (in a good way) to get a stick shift car as a loaner - and I like the Cooper Coupe.

Yeah, I've seen a couple, too. The grey R53 that I saw was lowered, black wheels and black A panels. Got a solid thumbs up and a horn from him. Then I saw a DS R56 with what looked like multi-colored powder wheels. Almost like a tie die look - most unique wheels I've ever seen and kinda cool to look at. Haven't seen either car since...

BTW - have you done your wheels in red yet? Thought I saw you in W'hampton.

Thanks, Pete. That shot was just meant to be since I didn't notice the Coke and Pepsi machines until the cars were already parked. BTW, I do prefer Coke over Pepsi.

You don't miss anything - I didn't really have to use product on the wheel arches since I wash the car every week, but I did apply some Mothers Back to Black last week. I want them to be as black as possible (and maybe slightly glossy) since they'll match up better with the satin paint that was applied to the side skirts. Body shop should have done them in flat...

Thanks.
