Hi Shiftyone, I was just reading thru NAM and found your post, I have an '03 with a similar problem. I get AC, but only at speeds over 30mph. Just had a friend check out my car and he noticed the fan wasn't turning on at all, it's 100+ here in Wisconsin (freaky) and I think my fan too is dead. Just wondering if the fan fixed your issue you had in January 2012

Just ordered my fan from RockAuto.com. Got my cars lack of A/C diagnosed as needing a new fan, compressor, dryer, and condenser. No idea why it would need a new condenser! If you could help give me some hope or sense of doom, it would be appreciated. My Cooper has been a bit of a money pit lately.
    Cheers!

"So, I'm going to replace the fan and see if that fixes it, since I have read that the A/C compressor is controlled by the fan in some way.
Fingers crossed I can get out of this mess for $81!"
