MINI S vs Toyota MR2 Spyder
Just a quick funny story. I have autocrossed a bit in the past in a modified Honda DelSol with B16. My neighbor autocrosses a lot with a Toyota MR2 Spyder. I just bought a Spyder cause the price was good and I am getting ready to sell it. My wife just purchased a MINI S. The other day my neighbor came by and asked me if we were bringing the MINI to autocross it. I asked him why. He said he was getting tired of getting beat by all the MINIs showing up at the autocross. He even told me to leave the Spyder at home cause the MINIs would just kill it anyway....I wonder how he will respond when I purchase my John Cooper Works MINI soon...HMMMM

Interesting classing there. The Spyder is CS and the MCS is DS within SCCA rules (the un-supercharged MR2 is ES however).
The late model JCW is CS also, as of 2011.
Not an SCCA autocrosser perhaps?
I should think the two cars are close enough so that it would boil down to the driver at the regional level.
(or mebbe I'm confused?)
Cheers,
Charlie

MINI vs MR2 Spyder
I know my neighbor autocrosses at almost every event here locally. They typically compete about once a month. His car is modified some as far as tires, intake, exhaust and suspension, so that may put him in some modified class. I will have to ask him when I see him if he competes directly with the Minis or if he is just comparing times.Hopefully this month, I will take the Spyder to the autocross to just try it out and see how it does.
