Just bought this mini woo hoo

Here is my first mini. It's a 1974 from Italy. My buddy brought it back after returning for a tour of duty. Needs some work but it's a beauty.

ha. I hope he had a variety of different styles. I would love to have a standard mini and an estate as well.

Not the prettiest car, but Ive only had it for one day and I fixed the floor pans, door, and quite a few odds and ends already. Only sad thing is drum brakes and 1000cc so that will have to be fixed later.

Here's our Classic, we've had him three months. His name is Bumblebee, and he's a right hand drive, modified for track, with a 1098 engine.

How was your experience w/ picking up the Mini from customs? Reason why I ask is that I'll be going through the same situation in about a month or so. I'm scared that I'll be missing paperwork when I get there.

I worked with a broker who helped with the paperwork to get through customs. I did take three weeks once it arrived to clear customs, would not start after sitting out in the weather for all that time. Send me a PM and I can give you a little more info.

Old pic, old guy...

... was a young man when I had this to motor about in.

Tended to overheat during our Midwestern summers, hence the additional cooling bootstrapped where the bumper used to be.

Long time gone, alas....

Was anything broken? Or was it just a drained battery?

The battery was drained, but also turned out to have a bad cell. The main issue was the solenoid was wet and badly corroded. Replaced both and the cable from the solenoid to the starter and that took care of it.
