Nice job with the color list and other abbreviations, biggripper. Its a great help to see what others have chosen, and colors are what I am still wrestling with at the moment (more like the past several months ).

While on the subject of colors, has anyone had any bad experiences with fade with any of the colors, especially in the South? My future MINI will usually be in a garage all day but that could change tomorrow.

Also, can anyone tell me if there any "rules" when creating a log in name?

thanks for your help,
john

Thanks, C4, for telling me about your good experience with Chili Red. Chili Red/White currently is one of my final choice for my MINI and that was the color I was most worried about.

I've called mine Bavarian Racing Green since it is not really the same British Racing Green seen on classic British sports cars . .

I only wish it would fade to a more proper color. . .

A friend of mine who is in the British car club loves it when I call my BRG Bavarian Racing Green.

It took a while to learn all these abreviations when I first started visiting this site. I've since sold my 03 BRG/B MCS and currently waiting for my 06 BRG/B MCS on LSD. Wait, that should be with LSD, not on.

Might be a stupid question, but what is a Mini One? Mini One = current gen Mini Cooper? Or is it the old "classic" Mini Cooper?

I searched but the word "one" is automatically excluded from the search terms whenever you try to search for mini one.

MINI One is a non american bound model sold in europe... equipped with a slightly lower hp cooper motor giving out 90 hp.... its less equipped than the cooper, and does not come with the option of contrasting roof...

basically, the entry level MINI model, available at 9995 British Pounds i believe... (dont remember if its 10,000 pounds or euros)

MINI One is a 90HP version available in the UK and most of Europe. You can look it up on the MINI international site.

Mc40

I always just say that I have an MC40, or an MCS MC40--it seems to be a distinctive model, and it's gotta be CR/W with the sports package, front and rear fog lamps, etc.

Although I knew most of these, they are still a great help. Thanks for taking the time to do this.

I am glad some one took the time to make this list even though the first few replies were to pick at it. It is really helpful for an FNG like me.

Metallic colors??

I just bought an '02 MCS and the window sticker lists the color as "Dark Silver Metallic"; would this be DSM? or MDS, as in Metallic, Dark Silver?

Just DS for dark sliver. Not sure about the stripes.

Someone needs to update the available color choices. Cosmos Black (non metailic) is no longer being produced (for the US Market)..

I've never seen anyone abbreviate for stripes...not that there is anything wrong with that.

We had I guy that came to work as a mechanic at a boat store that I worked at in high school. My boss named him FNG. I had to be informed that this stood for F*&@%ing New Guy. We later named him FUNEWGY for short...and later shortened that new Noogie and noog.

We're still fairly new to this, so I'll try to describe our MINI using these abbreviations to see if I've got it figured out.

Here's a description of Gromit:
05 MCC HO/B CVT #1 #2 #3 Black Bonnet Stripes(Did I miss an abbreviation for the stripes?)

How did I do?

Also, any abbreviations for the interior?

Due the request of TFQON, I have changed my signature to reflect the names of the packages.

I have to admit it looks a lot better that way. Good suggestion, TFQON!

I don't know why but it bugs the stew out of me when people call my Mini a Cabrio. It is a convertible not a cabrio . I don't know where they sell the cabrios but on my invoice it said convertible
