I inserted my key 3/4 into the cylinder. I then filled in the void at the end of the cylinder (key stop) with a bit of Apoxie Sculpt and waited until it set up before removing the key.

After sucessfully pulling the lock cylinder there remained only one small problem -The glove box cyilnder is only comprised of 4 wafers/pins as opposed to 8. I had previously discovered that if I inserted my original key 3/4 of the way in - the lock would lock and unlock as if the key was factory matched!

A couple of hours into the process, I washed things down to see if my time was well spent trying to resurrect a 20+ y/o part rather than replacing with new.

I targeted smaller sections using the same method.

While the damage may not appear that bad in these photos - in hindsight, I should have taken a better photo from a different perspective showing how much the plastic was actually distorted and pulled away which hung below the bottom edge of the side skirt.

Even though they are both sport seats - The seat bottom pattern are not the same between the pre-facelift R53 and the R52. So my passenger seat bottom pattern remains original to the car as opposed to the re-skinned driver's side from the R52. The R52 bottom seat cover will have to do for now. Until I come across a good condition PF sport seat bottom to match the original.

The frame cleaned up beautifully after spraying it down with a coat of Ospho. After letting it do it's magic for 20min, a quick wipe down, the frame was now rust free.

Surface rust most likely as a result from living most of it's life in Florida's high humidity climate.

Circled in red: You can see the green glow of the sonic strobe rodent deterrent in it's ready state as it's mounted on the frame rail just under the vibration damper...

Under the passenger side vibration mount is a nice wide open spot on the frame in which the device fit perfectly. It also appears to be the coolest area I could find under the hood.

Ok - Hardly small enough to fit and make a nest under the engine compartment...but you get the point. Unfortunately I was unable to take this photo with the Mini in the background without scaring him away.
