18" wheel purchase advice
Hi There,
I currently have 17" wheels and run flats on my 2019 JCW (F56). I am getting ready to place an order for 18" wheels and summer tires (will have them fitted closer to the summer). Could someone give my shopping cart a once over to make sure I haven't missed anything (regarding the wheels, I'll buy the tires locally). I am assuming that if I purchase wheels online and then purchase tires locally, the tire shop would be able to install the tires on the new wheels and fit them onto the JCW when I'm ready?
Shopping List:
- NM Engineering RSe12 wheels (these are made to go over the JCW brake calipers)
- Tire Pressure Sensors (do I need these, or would the local tire store have them to install when adding the tire?)
- Center Caps
- Wheel Bolts
- Wheel Locks
I'm also looking at Michelin Pilot Sport 4s - 225/40ZR18 tires for these wheels.
Thanks for any advice.
Stephanie

Tire shop should have TPMS or Tire Rack, can get for $148.75 shipped save $80 there (that's what I did for our winter wheels)
Also should be able to reuse the stock lugs and possibly center caps from stock wheels, since only using one set at a time
Otherwise good choices! Hopefully I'll get to meet you and the husband at a CMMC meet. Any chance you'll be at the Karting in January?

I think we do plan to go. CMMC is a great club, we've been going to the events for a few years now. Are you new to CMMC?
I assume to reuse the TPMS they'd have to take the tire off the old wheel to get at it? I had planned to keep the second set of tires and wheels ready for use in the winter. So I have 17" + runflats in the winter and 18" + summer tires in the summer.
But maybe it is possible to take out the TPMS without removing the tire?
Thanks both for your help!

I pretty much do what you plan on doing, have a set for winter and a set for summer, my shopping list looked just like yours minus the lugs, I keep the same lugs. Just swap tires depending on the season. You do have to reset the tire pressure. Just do that in the section that shows you tire pressures, recalculate and it sets up the different TPS units communication. Then you good to go. Been doing this since 2016

I just bought 4 brand new TPMS from eBay and it turns out that I don’t need them as the 2011 Mini Cooper S Countryman doesn’t have separate TPMS in the Canadian market. Assuming that your vehicle use the same TPMS as for an R60 Countryman I will sell them to you very cheaply. Please PM me if you’re interested.
