But honestly the Rear sway bar is the best mod to reduce body roll. That is what I liked about it the most. On the soft setting I think your wife would be fine as it doesn't make snap oversteer.
These are definately more cost effective. But I take it that the extended lug bolts are not included, which are required... I'm I correct?
I was looking to put spacers on my ALL4. It is stock including 18" wheels and 225/45/18 Continental runflats. It definitely does not have that wide stance that my 03 MCS has with 17's. But, when I measure in accordance with the ECS method it appears MINI did a fine job of maximizing the stance to fit the wheel well.
Of course this assumes the wheel will travel directly in upward and not swing inward on compression. I guess I will hold off on spacers and put that money toward something that WILL make my Countryman handle better, an upgraded rear sway bar.
That's pretty flush as is (especially with that HUGE lip MINI demands on using on these cars. Seems much better than the offsets used in past Countryman. Maybe my eyes are playing tricks on me though. Is that front or rear?
That was the rear. It is also a little deceiving because of the angle of the camera. The front was about the same. I've only had this MINI for a few weeks, but have logged 3000+ miles. With the current offset I also get quite a bit of crude being kicked up on the side of the MINI by the front tires.
Another thing to note is the roundness of the treads shoulder. I am running Yokohoma S-drives on my '03 and the tread width is almost as wide as the rest of the tire. Not so with these Conti's. I think tire choice also helps fill the fenders and the appearance of a wider stance.

I'm surprised to see how flush the stock wheels are compared to the fenders. Which rims do you have exactly?
From the looks of it, even a 5mm-10mm spacer will cause you to rub if you were to lower the car.
I just had my car at Discount Tire this-am to repair a nail puncture (luckily the tire didn't loose air!), and while I was waiting, I asked about wheel spacers. They said that they won't work on cars with spacers.
What?!
They strongly suggested that I reconsider, even going so far as to call them "dangerous".
So I guess if I get spacers, I'll have to remove them every time I want tire service from now on? I have the extended tire warranty (certs) from them for my new tires, so I really need to be able to go there.
Maybe they're just full of it, and if I take my car in with spacers, they'll just deal with it...?
I have the Way sway on my R60 after two R53's and I'm back to my comfort zone.....yes I've lowered my car and have 20" but the sway made it all happen!
I have stock 5-Star double spoke jet black 18"x7.5" two piece wheels.

The tire on the right looks much wider, but it is not by tire size. The tire on the left is my stock Perrilli P7 225/45/18. The tire on the right is a Yokohama S-Drive 205/45/15 off my Alfa Romeo Spider (on 15"x8" Mustang turbofan wheels.) I had the same Yokohamas on my '03 MCS in a 215/40/17 and they looked VERY wide on that car. The S-Drive is a great summer tire.

I'm lowered on NM springs (1.6" drop) and was wondering if anybody has a similar drop with spacers on. I have the 18x7.5 turbo fan rims and was looking to get either the 5mm or 10mm spacers. I don't want any rubbing issues so if 10mm rubs on big dips I'd just go with the 5mm.
I went to measure my car and looks like 10mm should be just fine, but I can't be sure.
Any recommendation or personal experiences would be appreciated!

I have the NM springs with the 19in JCW wheels and I believe I have the 10mm Berger Motorsports spacers. No rubbing issues.

Thanks Wzabrouski! Which 19in JCW wheels do you have? I'm going to guess it has an offset of 48mm. If that's what you have and it doesn't rub at all then my 18" wheels with a 52mm offset should be safe!
By the way, I would love to see a pic of your stance with these spacers on. Would be great if you get the chance snap a few pics,

After 4 summers my Conti3's 235/40/19 have had it...and served me well. I have 19" Nuespeed wheels and looking to go to an all season vs a high performance tire. Looking for more of a comfort ride along with handling or as much as possible with 19's.
I'm really interested in the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3's. My dilema is I either need to downsize to 225/40/19 or would really would like to go to the 245/40/19's for a a little better stance and look....
Is or has anyone used 245/40/19's on the countryman ? Or for those using spacers....would you be able to confirm a 245/40/19 tire would fir without any worries of rubbing...I have the stock sport suspension with out any 3rd party lowering. Any impute would be well welcomed. Anxious to get the stock 17 run flats off and swapped out for the 19's.

What combo did you end up going with? We’re you able to get the 245’s the fit?
Going to move this to the Wheels, Tires and Brakes area. Trying to do a little cleaning up here in the Countryman subforum until somebody volunteers to help out.
A word of advise, when installing spacers, using smaller ones in front than rear will induce more understeer. Albeit, not much, but noticeable.
Stick with a square setup.
Albeit bigger in the front will reduce understeer.
