That's something you may want to check on. I have the same wheels in 17". If the 15" are 40 offset then it may be possible that they will fit over the JCW brakes as on the 17" I have a lot of room left over.

thought it had to be the right (good caliper clearance) 16" wheel to fit over the JCW brakes

This is something that needs to be checked in person. I run 15" Kosei TS-1 on my JCW for AutoCross. The fit is minimal, but they do fit. Here is a good pic of what it looks like:

They do fit with the JCW Brakes.
These wheels do fit with JCW Brakes.
Please see the picture in the 1st post which shows them on my 06 JCW MCS

I have to come up with the funds though, I just unexpectedly bought an expensive cell phone when mine was magically chucked at the wall by some unknown force. So I'll let you know.
