FS: O.Z. Racing Ultralegerra 17 X 7 W/ Kumho ECSTA SPT Tires 215/40R17

These are the much talked about wheels on motoringfile.

Wheels are 17” X 7”, 4-100mm bolt pattern w/+35 mm offset.

The wheels were purchased new from Tire Rack December 2005 and have about 3,000 miles. Like new condition. Zero curb rash. There are a few socket marks around the lugs.

The tires are 215/40R17 Kumho ECSTA SPT Ultra High Performance Summer Tire. They are in great condition with 6-7/32” centerline tread remaining.

On a Mini Cooper, this wheel/tire combination is within 2% diameter of the OEM 17” wheels which minimizes speedometer error and will not rub on lowered MINIs. With the greater than OEM tire width and +35mm offset, it gives the MINI about a 1” wider track, providing a more stable, road hugging ride.

Centering rings (56.1mm) and lug bolts Included.

Asking $995

These wheels are balanced and ready to bolt onto your vehicle!

Wheels will be shipped UPS Ground. Cost will depend on location from Oak Ridge, TN.
Shipping weight is 40#s per wheel/tire.

Are you shopping or just or just have nothing better to do? What's your offer? The unsolicited opinion page is somewhere else.

The wheels are rated at 15.8 pounds each. Check out the O.Z. page to see how they look on the MINI. They have a really neat feature for viewing wheel/vehicle combinations-larger than Tirerack.

From the O.Z. website:
The one-part “Ultraleggera” is O·Z’s latest creation an engineering feat that allows “regular” car drivers to enjoy the Formula One wheel design, giving them access to sophisticated racing technology for everyday driving. Rarely has a wheel achieved a more perfect blend of elegance and sportiness than the “Ultraleggera”.
Six double spokes create the product’s visual association with Formula One. The black carbon fibre hub cap is also emblematic of O·Z’s dedication to motor sports and the pinnacle of racing Formula One.
Its weight-optimised design derived from advanced Formula One technology lends the wheel its fleet-footed profile. Proprietary O·Z technology made it possible for the manufacturer to cut down its weight by as much as 40 per cent in comparison to die-cast wheels of the same size made for the same vehicles. Lower weight yields a range of advantages such as a reduction in unsprung mass, which has a major impact on driving comfort and steering precision. Less mass also means less fuel consumption, faster acceleration and shorter braking distances. Thus the “Ultraleggera”, like all other weight-optimised models by O·Z, enhances vehicle performance.

Rubbing?

Do the tires rub on the wheel well if you hit bumps or have a full load of passengers?

No rubbing, even if your car has been lowered. THat's the rational for the 215/40 profile. THey are within 2% of the OEM tire diameter- also minimizes speedo error.

Yep - and my wife loves 'em. I've also become very fond of the Kuhmo Ecsta SPTs after driving on them. My wife's car is an MCC - CVT and losing 10 lbs a corner with this wheel and tire combination over a previous S-Lite and Dunlop 9000 RF set made a HUGE difference in her car.

That said, the ET38 of these wheels isn't for everyone - shod with 215s the rears are going to rub on any car lowered more than 1/2"
