Swift Springs Spec R's for R53 & R56

Hello fellow NAM'ers

We are going to start off with a suspensions sale (group buy). On our team’s personal minis we have always ran the Spec R's from Swift Springs. These springs have an aggressive spring rate compared to the stock rates, but are carefully designed to still be critically damped with the OEM shocks. We feel that this is a great balance between a street/track setup. It was created by the engineers at Swift to create a "set it and forget it" suspension setup compared to coilover options. Best of all we are extending out great deals for the R53 and R56 Minis for you guys.

No affiliation but, FWIW, I've been running the Spec R springs since they were released and am quite pleased with their performance.

bcriverjunky 07-30-2017 10:07 AM

How do these compare to the TSW springs?

Motorsports Ammo 07-31-2017 09:41 AM

Thank you for your input NC TRACKRAT. I know we weren't the ones to supply you with your Spec-R springs, but if you ever need extra support regarding those springs/general track setup, we wouldn't mind sharing our opinion. We love to talk setups, theories, testing, and whatever it takes to help you guys go faster around the track.

Edit: This goes for everyone, anyone can feel free to pm us with any car/track related inquiries and we'd love to talk shop with you.

Thank you for asking bcriverjunky, the TSW springs is also a very good option, we feel that it is set for a different group of people (market) compared to the Swift Springs. The TSW springs have softer spring rates, and the ride height sits taller than the Swift Springs. The TSW springs have an even spring rate front and rear, very similar to the OEM springs. The Swift Springs, has shifted the spring rate bias between the front and rear to increase the turn in, and be more responsive at steady state cornering. Both springs do well at their respected goals, Swift Springs are a performance oriented spring, while the TSW is a good all around street spring.

Wow that was fast. We are now completely out of R53 Spec-R springs and they will be in middle of next month. We have a few more sets of R56 Spec-R's, come and get them while we have them

Qik420 07-31-2017 10:27 AM

Motorsports Ammo 07-31-2017 10:44 AM

Sorry Qik420, pricing is too low low to post, so I shot you a PM

I will add a caveat (and this applies to any aftermarket spring set) that ride height will vary depending on what camber plates you use. The lowering dimension on any given set of springs is predicated on stock struts and mounts.

Motorsports Ammo 08-01-2017 12:28 PM

Yes you are correct camber plates can change the ride height, however as long as the camber plates are made by a quality manufacturer, it will not stray far from the intended drop amount. It is the camber plate manufacturer's responsibility to create the tophat to mimic the OEM tophat, which should factor the squish of the OEM rubber spring pads. Spring manufacturers design the spring specifically for the ride height with the OEM tophats

Minibeagle 08-20-2018 06:36 AM

For those of you asking questions to the OP (Motorsports Ammo) about the springs, please note that they are listed as a former vendor, so they probably won't be getting back to you.

You can get the springs from other online vendors. Just Google it. Amazon.com also sells them for the R53

Anyone on here know ....On an R53, what is travel of a stock strut and stock shock from level-rest to compressed?

And what travel remains on the same car with these swift springs ?

thanks in advance.
