Wonder who got the 1st weekend in May in 2016??? We always have the 1st weekend..

 

It's getting closer....registration opens this Friday.

I for one can't hardly wait!!

 

I REALLY REALLY REALLY want to attend but don't know if we can make it happen this year... :-( I've wanted a new mini since they came out and finally pulled the trigger on a 2010 JCW. Soooo many add-ons for appearance AND performance I don't know where to start! This looks like an awesome event and we love the area down there. Any recommendations on cheap lodging somewhat near Fontana Village? My wife and I would attend - don't need anything fancy as far as lodging - we are pretty easy that way. :-) Also any recommendations on day drives/events that are affordable would be awesome. Definitely want to do the brew swap and cigar events! Hopefully we will see you all there!

Registration for MOTD opens this Friday, Jan. 9, and registration for the drives opens Jan. 31. Fair warning: some of the really popular drives like Cherohala Skyway, Bridal Veil Falls, etc. fill up quickly. So, if you decide you can make it, sign up for the drives as early as you can as they do cap the # of cars for some drives due to safety and time considerations.

Attending MOTD is something every MINIac should do at least once, if at all possible. Last year was my first trip, and it immediately became a must-do annual event in my book

 

Looks like Fontana is fresh out of any lodging, including camping. Has anyone started a "room sharing" registry yet? I'm thinking of stopping by Friday/Saturday with Mrs and could split cost with someone for two nights =)

Any Pebble smartwatch owners out there? Are you going to MINIs on the Dragon? I have made a simple watchface that shows the time, and how many days remaining until the event starts. Search the Pebble appstore for "MOTD Countdown". Let me know if you like it, and tell me what I've got wrong!

 

That was our choice to move due a conflict with Mother's day that year. I put up a poll last year and the minions voted to move it back a week.
