Today we decided to take a road out of Jerome AZ. that about 10 years ago I was told was paved to the top. Well, it wasnt, but we decided to drive up it a ways anyway just to see what was up there. 50 some odd miles later we wound up in Williams AZ. It was about 30 miles of dirt road. The last 22 miles were paved. When we got to Williams we decided to drive route 66 to Kingman. The entire trip was 356 miles and we got around 32 miles per gallon. I need to get a nice camera. When I do Im going to make this trip again and take pics. |

That's great. I vaguely remember the old TV series, and growing up in Illinois we often ended up on Rte. 66! Congrats on the trip.

We drive a section west of Albuquerque whenever we visit friends in the East Mountians. There's a section called the 'Musical Highway' http://www.roadsideamerica.com/tip/45182
that gets my Patriot juices going and nostalgia running wild. |
