Warped Rotors

I am curious, I bought a set of Powerslot rotors for the rear (to match the Detroit Tuned Kit on the front) and they were new in the box but one (the only one I tried to mount) was warped.

How does this happen on new rotors?

Manufacturing defect? Contact whoever you bought them from and see if they'll replace them for you.

I too bought a set last May...both are warped. They're still sitting in my garage in the boxes. Bought these thru Tire Rack. Perhaps I should call Power Slot too. I was way to busy to bother last May

Hmm maybe a bad batch? I just re-ordered some Power Slots (slotted) from Tire Rack due to a mix-up with the last set i ordered. They should get here wednesday, I hope they don't come warped because I need these on my car ASAP. I'll chime in when they arrive...

BTW, any pics of the warped rotors?

This probably is not your issue but I thought to post just in case. I put a set of EBC rotors on and tightened the rotor set screw. I installed the caliper and spun the rotor. It looked warped. I was pissed. I messed with them and pulled them off and put them on the granite kitchen counter and they weren't warped. It was driving me nuts. I remounted and they weren't friendly going on the hub even until I used a few lug nuts to set them straight. Installed the calipers and they are perfect. I may never get them back off but I will worry about that later.

Long story short, check them with a straight edge to ensure they are warped.

I had not even put the pads on the calipers and the rotor was rubbing. I laid the rotor flat and could see the gap....
