17x8, BBS (RX??) they are 20 year old wheels, ET38. Tires are Khumo ecstas (sp?) 215/40/17. The car is lowered with H&R springs, Adjustable lower rear arms.

The wheels/tires are flush with the fenders, which I like. Only rubs during extreme bumps/dips.

BBS a classic rim for all application, just makes Minis look good!

sprp85 05-16-2007 08:06 PM

They aren't RX thats for sure..
There should be model name stamped around

Passat774 05-17-2007 05:52 AM

Can you get us any pictures of the casting numbers off the wheel? Or a picture of the BBS stamp on the inside. The guys at BBS are saying

Konky 05-17-2007 08:07 AM

BBS does use the same letters for newer wheels, for example:

The old BBS RZ's came stock on VW Corrado's and looked like this:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...y/IMG_2188.jpg

Since BBS retired that wheel years and years ago, the new BBS RZ now looks like this:
http://www.hostdub.com/albums/Konky_album11/BMINI01.jpg

So all I'm saying, is that they could be old RX's, but to be honest, I've never seen hem before either.

(Contact Michael Cox at BBS-USA, he might know.)

Konky 05-17-2007 08:19 AM

another example, here is a scan of a tirerack ad from over 10 years ago (showing my wheels :) )

you can see how the names of wheels have changed over the years.

The guys at BBS says that they need more information than just the picture he posted here. They do not recognize the wheel. Thus need the casting information..

I sent you pics didn't I?

I'm not gonna go through the hassle of posting them on NAM....don't have the energy to put up with the flaming i would get:razz:

PS...it was funny seeing you over on wheelwh0res

Passat774 07-26-2007 07:02 PM

I think just one simple pic would be nice for the others to see. Yeah, I am a wheel whore. Good website for us wheel lovers..

My new set that is in the works is something that should be very nice, even with a little poke..

Rally@StanceDesign 07-26-2007 07:31 PM

fair enough...a little glimpse at the wheels (still in progress)

BBS RM012's [2-piece] fully refurbished by me
  • Custom polished lips from Schmidt....made of radinox which means no bends or curb rash
  • Gold bolts imported from Germany through RKImporting
  • Centers were sandblasted and then custom powdercoated in a semi-flat silver called "rally silver" by a local Porsche guy in Ohio
  • Centercaps are still being worked on. I'm sourcing some of the discontinued polished centercaps to match the polished lips
Ride height will go lower once i work out some custom arches that i have planned

Nicely done RallyMINI

sandtoast500 07-26-2007 09:35 PM

   Great lips, but it doesn't look like curb rash would be a problem with those rim protectors on the tires. . . at least from that angle. . .

Rim "protectors" are really pretty worthless. They're just a thin strip of rubber, after all, and fighting against a couple thousand pounds of car. If your wheels are headed for the curb (or a nasty pothole), those rubber ribs are going to give way without a blink.

Hence i spent a little extra and got lips made by schmidt.....you could drive around with no tire at all and get zero curb rash.

As seen here

Nice! I'm sure you'll still be giving wide berth to curbs, though.

Looking good Rally. How are those centercaps coming along? The gold bolts I could do without but your setup is tight. Don't listen to the haters on this board lol..
