AHH I can't decide!!!!!!!!

Wow this is amazingly frustrating. First, thanks to those who chimed in on my last thread (track tires that are not r-comps). Second, here's what I can't decide between: (these setups are for track/HPDE)

Kosei K1 Racing - 15/7 38mm offset, don't know what the hub size is. Anyone know? 109$each

-OR-

Rota slipstream
- 15/7 40mm offset, 56.1 hub, 113$ each.
I might be able to get a 15/7.5 if 18racing is still doing the group buy which was posted here about a month or two ago.

Both weigh about the same. I can get the rotas in a nice flat black to match my car. Kosei's are very popular, and are on closeout at tirerack.

Why did I decide 15 over 16? I don't think I'll need a BBK for a while until I get a lot better at the track, and the tire choices in 16 aren't as good.

I was thinking 205/50 for either setup, be it 7 or 7.5 inches.

Welp...have at it!

BTW - I'll get some new azenis to put on the rims.

I say get the Rotas just because the center bore on the wheel is the right size for the hub. The Kosei wheels will require hub centering rings, which can be a PITA.

Well, rings aren't that bad, but no rings are better! ;) You don't have to worry about losing / forgetting them, for one thing. I forget what the hub size / center bore is for the K1 racings, but I know it isn't MINI sized.

Of course, that's assuming the wheels are about equal in all other aspects

i agree with snig. plus slipstreams look sick!

Personally, I love the kosei k1s. I also noticed edge racing is selling some light weight 15x6.5 fliks for $69 a piece! You could paint them whatever color you want.

15s for track days are the way to go. I just picked up a slightly used set of 205/50/15 RA1s for $100!

Thanks for the opinions - If I'm able to get the 15/7.5, would a 205 tire still be an OK size, or would it be stretched too much?

you're fine with 205
