A late chime, but no-one has mentioned interference with the suspension with such wide rims. I recall Randy Webb saying to me there were such issues with 8" rims, but maybe that's not a problem if you have the 35mm offset. Still, I gather from the posts that there are NO suspension problems?
cheers,
cheers,

Anyone have better price than Vivid Racing? Sorry for going OT...
Yes, they all make 17x8" wheels, but when I was checking for race wheels, non of them had that size in a 4x100 with min of a +40 offset. Can you confirm if in fact all of these companies actually do this?
Aslo, yes, a +35 offset should not bother the suspension.

I know you are familiar with rota wheels.....and if i remember correctly, willing to use them as track tires.....so you might want to check these out. The ET might be too high (48) or too low (32)....but i dont know. Check them out here (most places dont sell them in 4x100 but it is possible.

I have checked out most of the manufacturers that you mentioned and they came up with nothing. I know most of the wheels are too heavy, thanks.
But, I was looking for 9" anyway.
I ended up spending big bucks on custom 3 pc wheels for my project.

iForged has a race series that offers lighter wheels and Fikse offers lighter wheels too, commonly used on porsches.. wouldn't 3piece wheels be heaver than a 1piece wheel? So, onasled, spill it, who are you having make your "custom" wheels?
The wheels i'm referring to are the Keskin KT-4s MSFITOY... They also offer a 17x9 but their like 20lbs a piece and i'm sure you want lighter than that...
@ misterdangerpants, could you do me a favor and see how much clearance you have with the inner part of the wheel and the suspension components? Although I'll be running the same width tire the rims are half an inch wider so just to be sure I have clearance on the inside of the wheel well.. Thanks for letting me know they sit flush with the fenders because that is EXACTLY what I want... nice car...

That's not even much of a stretch though, barely anything... And a 205/40 will fit a 8inch wheel just fine according to the tire size calculator posted somewhere here on NAM... a 205/45 and the widest is 7.5... idk, it's late and I'm tired lol... I'll be going with a 215/40 on an 8" rim, hehe...

misterdangerpants, thanks!
vento, onasled has a different view in mind. His MCS is purely a track car so his setup reflects that.
onasled, I don't see how it's the wrong size tire on the wrong size rim? So what there is only 1 right size rim now? Read my post above, I'll get you the tire size calculator, it isn't necessarily the wrong size tire for an 8" wide rim. It may not be as wide as you can go but that isn't necessarily wrong...

Onasled, there's no need to show you the tire size calculator. There are 25.4mm in 1 inch, correct? (yes it is) So if you take 205mm and divide it by 25.4mm what do you get?
The answer: 8.0708661 inches.
That would mean that a 205mm wide tire is 8 inches wide... Like I said before, it may not be as wide as you can go for maximum grip but that doesn't make it the wrong size tire...

True, cause theres 25.4mm in an inch lol, I just rounded. I'll edit my post to be more exact. And I figured it wouldn't work exactly like that to fit tires on wheels cause well, that'd be too simple... But at the very least it shows that a 205 tire is 8inches wide, so how could it be the wrong size?
