Need Advice Also on Tire/Wheel Combo
Need Advice Also on Tire/Wheel Combo
I'd like to join the lineup of Mini owners who need help choosing their dry weather roadwear. Have a 2003 JCW. My current final choice is wheels: Team Dynamics Monza 16 x 7 with 205/50/16 BFG Q-Force Sports.
I drive mostly on two lane back country roads. Like to load up the suspension on curves and do lots of passing. Chose the Monza's for style and low weight. The Q-Force seems to have decent ratings for traction, response, noise and wear. Chose 205 tread width, well, I'm not sure why. Just didn't seem as extreme as going to 215's. The 50 aspect ratio is to cushion some of the really harsh frost heave and road holes we get here in Maine. I've read there are other considerations, like perhaps going to a smaller tire runout to compensate for the long gear ratio.
I'd appreciate any thoughts, advice etc Many thanks
