KEI Racing wheels???

Hello,

I am just checkignt o see if anyone has experience with KEI Racing wheels? Particularly the Flights:
http://www.performancealloys.com/details.asp?procedure=wheel&id_wheels='Flight%20HB '&id_wheels_manufacturers='KEI%20Racing'&id_wheels _sizes='15x6.5'&price='102'&permission=306259115

I beleive they are failry light at around 17 lbs but I am worried about the strength of them. They will mostly be used for Daily Driving.

TIA,
JBravoMC

for a 15x6.5 wheel, 17 lbs. is not light. check out Tire Rack where you can get a similar wheel at around 12 lbs. for a 15x7

Whoops, don't know why but that link was supposed to be for the 17X7's. From the link though they say they weigh the same as the 15's.

http://www.performancealloys.com/details.asp?procedure=wheel&id_wheels='Flight%20HB '&id_wheels_manufacturers='KEI%20Racing'&id_wheels _sizes='17x7'&price='149'&permission=306260559

Well, at 7.25 Kgs, it converts to barely over 16lbs. If the 17's only weight that much and are not forged, I am just worried they will bend easily.

Not sure if I want to take the risk though.

are you looking for lightweight track wheels? because your R90s are one of the best looking wheels IMHO

ScuderiaMini,

Thanks, I really like the looks of the R90 but want something a bit more unique and lighter. I was thinking of these Kei's but might just want to wait a little while and spend the extra for some iforged Vertex.

I was just trying to see if anyone had any knowledge about the KEI Racing wheels before I choose to get these or not.

i do a lot of wheel shopping and research, but KEI has never gone
through my list of candidates.

try volks and ssr's for lightweight sports wheels.

Looks exactly like the Flick Fuel, except more expensive...

If you're going to buy an off-brand, might as well go with the cheapest one.

Yeah, how are the Flicks? don't know much about them either. The only thing I like about the KEI's that is missing from the Flicks is the Hyper Black finish that the KEI's have and I don't really want to Powder Coat after the fact.

Ok, I went to MINI2 and did a search on these KEI Racing rims. I first saw them on that sites Wheel gallery. It appears there are a lot of people over in the UK that run KEI's (Even though they are a Jpanese wheel). I guess I will hit that site up as well to get some of their first hand opinions. I'll post what I find out if anyone is interested.

If anyone here has any experience with KEI Racing I would be interested to hear, good or bad.

Thanks again fro everyones help,
JBravoMC

I bought a set of Fliks (apex I think) a couple years back and used them one season as track wheels. The finish wasn't the best, but they held up fine.

I had a set of Kosei T1-S wheels too at one time and the quality seemed much nicer - aside from the really cheap centercap/hubcentric ring assembly. I'd personally spend more money and go that route if you can live with the color choices.
