Hello all,
Well here's my delima.
I have the stock Goodyear Eagles RSA on my MCS.
They are average .....@ best....IMHO
I've always driven on all season tires as I live in NY and the climate kinda lends itself to this type of tire.

It's time to step up & out ..... a bit

T1-S or FZ4...now that is the question?????

Please....let me know what you're thinking out there ??????

I'm listening

Peace,
D

From tread design, I like the look of the FZ4, Since you live in NY, it looks like its a perfect blend of high performance with enough channeling to usefull in the rain. The FZ4's look like they have more meat in the center of the tire.

I had both tires on my Accord, and for regular street driving, you probably will be better off with the FZ4. In an autocross situation, the T1-S offer much more grip than the FZ4 at the expense of longevity. Either one should be better than the Goodyears. I have the Goodyears on my MCS, and after my first autocross with them, I can definitely say there's a lot of room for improvement.

I've got the T1-S's and all my snickering about the guys up North having to consider winter tire/wheel combos came back to haunt me. It didn't snow here in Nashville at all last year, but this year we've already had over 8 inches. The T1-S's are NOT winter tires.
If you'll be driving in snow frequently, you'd have to have another set for the winter. Rain performance is great and dry performance is AWESOME, especially vs. the Euphoria's that came stock. I've running the 205/50-16's with Rota Circuit 8's from RSpeed (talk to Peter if interested).
Good Luck!

The only concern I would have selling FZ4 to Mini owners is that they are a bit noisey and the ride is so so when it comes to comfort. However, FZ 4 are affordable and last a long time.
Note, as a Tpyo dealer, we refuse to sell thse to Miata owners because a Miata not heavy enough to force traction out of them.
Brigestone S03s and Yoko ES 100 are a better choice for a little more than Toyos.

Tire Rack always has killer dealer deals on both. and Sometimes Super Duper Killer Deals on Dunlup 9000s!!!!!!!

Still, the Toyo T1 S is all around great and my favorite as it is used in World Challange.
Also, Falken Azenis are Go kart Fun!
