Did I boil my brake fluid?

I did a track event about a month ago. During it, I experienced brake fade, but didn't see obvious signs of boiled brake fluid - there was no fluid seen leaking under the hood. During the event, I noticed that even after things cooled down (a few hours sitting), the brake pedal still felt softer than it did before I went to the track.

Being a newbie, I got used to it and carried on (street driving). I did mention things to a few people who know more about these things than me, and nobody said I needed to do anything different.

I just had my car tech inspected before my next HPDE event, and had the brake fluid changed from stock to ATE super blue. My brake pedal is back! Big difference from before.

So, did I boil off some fluid and get air in the lines?

What happened to you is very common for street cars used on the track. Frequent bleeding is the fix, using high-temperature rated fluid, as you found out.
