....very very similar to the Exel TZ-10. Don't know which came first, the chicken or the egg.

The Motorsports shop next door can get me a fair price, and was able to order a test wheel for free (to me anyway), to see if it fits around the Brembo calipers I'm running.

In the end, I hope our car looks like this (my hack photoshop job):

...plus I need to get the windows tinted... man, black cars with big windows get warm in the sun...

Anyone live in Portland Oregon that can recommend a tinting place?

Those are sweet! I may have a different wheel to look into now

As soon as the wheel arrives to Plus One Motorsports for test fitting, I'll throw it on the scale, but I beleive they are 19-20lb range. That's for an 18" rim, BTW.

Not great, but I'll buy different rims (16") for the track at some stage.

how far out do the spokes stick out compared to the rim?

I think they look good if they don't stick out too far.

We had ours done by this place:

Ultimate Window Tinting
6900 NE Hwy 99
Vancouver, WA 98665 - 0573
(360) 695-4444

I like those wheels, do you know if they come in a 16 or 17"?

Good question. I hope not at all.

If they do, when I see them in person, I'm going to request a different wheel.

You'll notice the spoke detail recedes into the rim, so I'm hoping that the face of the spoke is the same as the outermost limit of the rim.

I guess we'll see. I've got my fingers crossed.

Ahh, thanks! When shopping around did you happen to find anyplace in Portland or did you stick with the Vancouver area?

Also, did they do a good job? Any mini-bubbles?

I've been quoted $185.00 for tinting a MINI by Tommy's Tint here in Portland. Seem fair?

Yeah, they did a good job. I had a small problem and they fixed it no questions asked. No bubbles. I think I paid 150-160 while they were having a sale, so 185 is reasonable. I didn't look for any places in portland.

Goto www.tintdude.com and see if you can get a recommendation there. It's a tinter's forum on the inet.

OK, the test wheel was fitted today, and it looks like I'll need a 5mm spacer to clear the brembos properly.

The wheel looks more silvery in pics, but it has black highlights all over in the crevasses in person. The wheel appears to be well constructed and of good finish quality for the price.

blurry pics:

Here's a pic with the test wheel (no tire) sitting on a stand, resting beside the car. There is a black canvas cover on the rear of the rim, in order to block the view through to the existing wheel. The view of the brembo brakes are obviously obscured as well.

Again, the pics don't do the color justice....they look like painted grey in this pic. Not at all how they look in person.

Oh, and it appears that the spokes do not stick out at all. In fact, there is a slight taper inward, and towards the center, the spokes taper dramatically.
