I recently got a puncture and have decided against repairing it as it's on the edge, between the sidewall and the tread. So now what? My tires have 10000 miles on them, rotated every 3000. Should I get a full set of new tires, as I don't like the idea of getting one new tire and having three half-used ones? I could replace a pair I suppose, but I don't really like that idea much better. If I could find one used identical tire that would be ideal. I've been happy with my tires, but was looking forward to trying something new and different when replacement time came up. Now I feel like I should probably get an identical set, that way I'll have a few back-up tires if this were to happen again in the future.

I think tirerack will be able to shave your new tire to match the circumference of your other 3. :smile:

 

yes, $25 per tire to shave street tires. Get the tread depths measured. Have the tire shaved to the depth of the least worn tire. Place the least worn , and the new tire in the rear for safest handleing.
