Gen 3 stock lug bolts: How many turns do you get?
Gen 3 stock lug bolts: How many turns do you get?
I'm about to add new wheels to my 2024 F57 JCW, and also 3mm spacers.
The stock bolts are, of course 14x1.25x28mm - 28mm in thread length.
Most folks I asked said I wouldn't likely need new lug bolts, but I MIGHT, depending on how many turns the stock bolts will do.
I'm asking about it here, because I don't have a 17mm lug wrench, so I can't check the amount of stock threads for myself.
The general rule of thumb is that you need seven full turns. However, H&R say that a 14x1.25 lug bolt needs more than most others.
They recommend NINE full turns, and 12mm of load bearing shaft length.
----------------------------
If I need new bolts, I'd like to order them asap. So, does anyone know how many turns a stock lug bolt does on a 17" wheel? (Or how much shaft length there is?
