~3" of poke too much?

I found some 15x8 +25 offset Konig Dial Ins that I want to put on my Mini but Will They Fit says the poke will be about 3". Is this too much? I have stock ride height and my car is a daily driver.

The OEM 17" wheels are 17x7 +48. Going to a 15x8 +25...

The wheel will stick out 36mm, which is 1.5". In my opinion, will look a little goofy without some wide fender flares.

Interesting, I used Will They Fit and got these results.

So do you take the difference to get the poke for your new fitment?

Yes, you have to subtract the old from the new to get the difference with the new wheels. The numbers above give you 34mm. Go out to your car, and measure out 34mm from your existing wheel, and that's where the new ones will sit.

In general about 15mm of poke is fine. The tire and rim will be exposed and wider than the fender so just be careful.

Don't get wide rims and put narrow tires on them, this will expose the rim metal and risk damage if you hit anything.

If you are daily driving why do you want to get 8" wide rims and what tires are you planning to use? A wider tire will give more grip potentially but also more rolling resistance.

I decided to pass because my car is a daily and it sounds like 15s are not ideal for daily use. Plus the tire availability is limited.
