16x9 ET18 On R53s
Found a set of wheels, 16x9 ET18, curious if anyone has seen anything close or similar to this setup squared on a r53. All I have found are R56s with similar setups and one R53 that had the wheel milled to ET25 to fit for a stance setup (see link). I´d like to either do a similar stance to the vid. linked or a wide 245/45 wide bodied, stocksuspenion. Just like to hear anyones .02c on how it would affect the car, would still like it to be functional; daily driver, no track, some spirited. 20+ hours of searching here and elsewhere has only helped me so much with making the choice.
In the vid. you see that it is strictly a show car being lowered that much, not for me, looking to keep it functional. Stated previously and found in the comments of the vid, milled the wheel to Et25 and is running 205/40s, stanced, lowered like crazy and cambered a ton to fit it all.

You don't need any extra wide wheel for daily driving. You gain more wheel and tire weight and if you don't increase power you won't be able to use more tire very easily.
For relatively tame levels of power on a mid modded MINI you want the lightest wheels and tires with decent tire width about 225mm wide is OK if you want handling and performance. A very aggressive alignment and lowered adjustable suspension would be a plus for making full use of any tires.
16x9 wheels wouldn't give you many options for tires that fit the wheels and not be rubbing. 245/45-16 comes in Toyo Proxes T1R, will fit a 9" wide rim but perfect for 8" rim, tire diam. of 24.6" is a little tall but OK for OEM suspension.
A better tire size would be 225/50-16 which fits rims 6-8" wide, perfect for 7", tire diameter tall at 24.8" but OK with OEM suspension. Much better tire selection possible. So 16x8 rim would be more versatile.

There's advantis in 16X8 +35 (Safe fitment) and 16X9 +45.
Per the calculator, they stick inwards an extra 22.3MM and outwards 2.7MM. Outwards that won't be an issue but not sure about inwards for the front.
I'd run a 225/50-16 Hankook RS4. 225 with a 9 is proper stretch for trackday/autox. Any insight?
