Looking to ditch the Run Flats on my R56

Hey everyone,

I have a RPM Stage 2 catless R56 and was looking to ditch the runflats and get some new rims. This is because i spin the front wheels all the way through first and second with these 205's and have been also starting to take my car to the track occasionally. I am also lowered an inch and have 15mm spacers all around. Does anyone have any recommendations for wheels that would fit a 215 or maybe a 225 without any rubbing? Im having a bit of trouble. Thanks

Track occasionally means how many times per year? Otherwise daily street driving? How many miles per year and on what type of roads? Highway or residential?

If you mostly daily drive then you want tires that will work for that purpose but still be OK for limited track duty (not wear out super fast). If you track more than 2 or 3 times per year you might want something that holds up better on track and is more durable but still can be driven on the street if you don't do lots of mileage (above 8000 miles/year).

Since you are lowered you don't want a tire size that is much taller than OEM or about 25" tops. The wider your wheels and tire size the less clearance you will have and the less you will need the 15mm spacers for a flush fitment. But wider wheels and tires means more weight plus it can be harder to find wheels in wider sizes depending on brand and design.

A good place to start is tirerack.

Note that wheel spin is not always your tire size but rather limited grip and traction for your increased power. Race tires in the same size as your current tires will limit loss of traction depending on what road surface you have. You might not have to change wheels if you can find good tires with softer rubber.

Thank you so much for the info! Yeah I think ill keep the same size tires but just get a little grippier ones since i only track about twice a year.
