Winter all-weather and or snow tires.

On the left, what was explained to me as, an all-weather tire. Not an all-season tire. All season tires are mostly 3 season tires. All-weather tires are winter tires (winter high-silica compound) with the ability to go into the spring and summer. They do come with the mountain/snowflake symbol. Note the bigger block tread on the outside edge for better dry weather cornering. That is the tire that was sold to my daughter's MINI as a winter tire. I was told they sell more of these than regular snowtires at some tire shops in the Pacific Northwest.

On the right are the winter snow tires I have for my MINI.

I think my did can delay a bit later into the spring when switching back to her summer tires than I can.
