17x8 on a R56??
Hey all, so I'm looking at a new set of Kong wheels for my 2011 mini cooper s on Ohlins coilovers. I am concerned about rubbing and Coilover interference, the wheels are 17x8 et45 I am planning on adding a 10mm spacer to them to help get them flush with the fender and get them away from the shocks a bit. Does anyone have any experience fitting 17x8s on a lowered r56?? I'm planning on running a 235/40/r17 tire on them btw.

Compared to OEM 17x7 et48 with OEM 205/45-17 tires, your new wheels will be 9.7mm closer to the inner suspension and poke out 15.7mm more, tire diameter is 4mm taller so you should be OK, add the 10mm wheel spacer and you get more inner suspension clearance but about 1" of poke.
You do get more wheel weight (26 lbs) vs light 17x7 wheels and which tire were you using and for what type of driving? 40 series sidewalls can be firm riding.
