Costco Tires Public Service Announcement
#27
Yeah, I know, but they're green!!!
78% Nitrogen is good enough for street cars, its a sales gimmick.
The tires had 21% oxygen in them during mounting.
In F1, Pirelli mounts the tire, then purge cycle a few times to achieve 99% Nitrogen purity.
IF Costco really has a Nitrogen generator, then my tires have less than 90% purity.

If the place won't let me buy what I want without jumping through hoops, they just don't want and will not get my business. What would they say if you wanted to go with 215's instead of the 205's that the book calls for? My Vette had 245's all around originally, but for years I've been running 285 front and 315 rears. I guess I'd need a note from the NTSB for COSTCO to replace my tires.
Aso if you have green stem caps on noting nitrogen filled Costco and Sams will not put air in no atter what . I was at sams noticed tpms on and tire way low at tat point I dont care what gas is in it Just add something please so I grabbed the hose put enough in the took green cap off and said "Ta Da"

I completely understand the whole general public thing but what are people like me supposed to do when I want a part now its not meant for the car I am putting it on but I know what I want isnt that how hot rodding began. My R56 was buit up to 365 whp without using a single "designer" part. Nothing used was made by or for the car specifically but a little creative routing and left over Honda projects lead to a T44 turbo with a FMIC from a Prelude and 2.5" piping. only thining I would have done different would have been use 2" piping but as soon as its newest incarnation is up and ready it will show off a E36 and 2 turbos with rear mounted Water intercooler and RWD. Now try and get a part from any store for that "Year...2007 Mini Model...Cooper S Is that the 1.4 turbo? No its ae 36 ....I cant find that are you sure?.... Well thats from a M3 so is it for which car ... Nevermind Ill just go down street there too stupid to typwe in the right stuff anyway so Ill get it.
