Advice before I take the plunge, please

Thinking of ordering an 18-inch Tire and wheel package for summer from Tire Rack, and want to make absolutely sure I won't have any rubbing issues. Will go with 215/40-18 Michelin Super Sport on OZ Ultraleggera that have a 42 offset. The car is lowered by about half an inch. Don't THINK it should be a problem, but would like anyone running this combo, or an expert to chime in please...

Which car in your sig is that going on? And are you 100% sure you wanna go to 18"? It's big, heavy, and rides like garbage...

The beater. Thanks for your opinion. I've ridden on a few Mini's with 18's, and don't think they ride much different than on 17's, quite frankly. I don't use run flat. As for being heavy, The OZ wheel is actually 4 lbs lighter than the stock 17 inch wheel I had, and only 1 pound heavier than the NM 17 inch wheels I run now. I'll be keeping those as winter wheels. I'd just like to know if anyone actually runs 215/40-18's with no rubbing issues, and if so, what wheel offset do they have? Please, I'd like to limit this thread to facts, not opinions.

Thank you. There are many similar sites, but it doesn't really help to know what the differences are, when you need to know if those differences will rub. That's the question. There MUST be someone out there running 215's on Ultraleggera
