Dan or others in the Know,

I think this question has been asked in one form or another before but this may be a little more specific.

I am considering a variety of wheel and tire sizes to run in STX and feel that there is a need to know what offset wheel best centers the wheel in the available space. The car will be lowered and stiffened but these are secondary issues except that any after market strut will probably not have the MINI front strut dent for extra clearance, so maybe we need two recomendations on offset. One with the O.E. struts and one without, assuming the other strut is the same diameter but doesn't have the dent.

I think the issue on the outside is more likely to be the tread width than the section width and will be a little harder to deal with but with a tire that has a fairly rounded side wall the tread should be able to go up in the fender a ways before the fender caught the side wall or the tread.
