Help me pick a color for my Kosei K1's
6 Attachment(s)
So I sold the RPF1's and Im moving onto the Kosei K1's. I dropped them off to get all the curb rash fixed and be powdercoated. I want to go with a gold color, but Im having trouble deciding.
I really like the shade of gold the the RFP1 comes in http://www.tirerack.com/images/wheel...gold_ci3_l.jpg Here are some pictures of the color chips that I narrowed things down to. 2 questions, which best matches the Enkei, which do you prefer? It's very subjective and really up to you.
Also with any pictures, the true color will vary with light source and exposure. It's hard to tell what is the real color. Here are some BRG MINIs and gold wheels so you can see how it might look. http://www.smokeywear.com/db2/00152/...cooperands.jpg http://www.mini2.com/galleries/data/500/37372.jpg https://www.northamericanmotoring.co.../JCWMCS-15.jpg |
Minihune has a good point.
Taking in consideration of the colors produced by my tablet, from what I see, the 3rd from the lightest would probably best suit your BRG. Bigger contrasts draw more attention. The 3rd shade from the lightest side has more yellow in it. (2nd and 3rd shades look extremely similar though.) Yellow seems to suit green better than shades with more brown. [That`s just my take on the whole thing.] I hope you figure out which shade suits you and your mini! |
Seems that for colors that are darker than BRG a more neutral to pale gold works well as a contrast accent color.
see link- http://smg.photobucket.com/user/ra2f...G0056.jpg.html For your case, a darker gold offers less contrast until you get into the middle shades which have more yellow, then you get something that is brighter and catches more light. If you want to stand out I think the shades more in the middle to the left could look good. You can always try photoshop. Depending on your lighting- full sun vs cloudy or with flash, the BRG can look darker or not, this may play a role in how the overall look may turn out. Another method is to get BRG color sample and put it next to the gold shades. I decided on the color 2nd from the left in all pictures.
For whatever reason, it kept catching my eye. |
I was going to say, the two darkest wants are by far my favorites, they look more gold than yellow in my opinion

Just curious to why you sold the RPF1 for the kosei's
|
Just curious, what's the round about cost to get that done?
Thanks and you don't need to answer of you don't want to..... |

Thanks and you don't need to answer of you don't want to..... They turned out they were slightly out of round, so I opted to make the wheels "perfect". $120/wheel to fix curb rash $39/wheel to make true and round $40 to powdercoat all wheels All said and done, after buying the K1's and having them fixed up, Im only out of pocket $100 bucks after selling my Enkei's, so not a bad deal. |

Purely cosmetic, Ive always like the K1, and after seeing them on the Mini Spec B car, I was happy to see they looked pretty good there too.
A set came up for sale here and I jumped on it. Well, the wheels were absolutely thrashed when I bought them. I knew they would need curb rash fixed, but I was told the wheels were free of bends. Wow!! |

That looks rad! Looks antique bronze. I have a very similar color on my winter wheels.
