I'm replacing my rims/tires are soon as my stock runflats' lifespan is over. I have about 17000 miles on them, and they don't seem to want to die anytime soon.

I took them to a local shop and they told me the tread still looks good...

I'm baffled because I've read on NAM that people have replaced them after 13000 miles !

I'm on 32k and have what looks like less than half of tread left, except for one front tire that is wearing on the outside, possibly due to some alignment issues....I've rotated them front to back once in their lifetime at 13k. They don't wanna die! I bet they can last with one more rotation to 36-40k. then I'll get some 'real' tires.

Depends on how you drive them. I sold mine after 11k miles so I cannot tell you what I got. They still had over 50% of the tread life left according to what I remember. So they should last you for a while longer yet.

I am at 12,500 and my tread looks good. I need to rotate them however. Any suggestions on that? What type of interval should I be looking at for rotation. Eventhough the tires are heavy I like the runflats.... gives me piece of mind....

Crap, I was hoping they would die sooner rather than later. I could prbly sell all four for pretty cheap

Would you be selling the wheels and tires or just the tires?

I'll sell them either way. Three of the rims have scratches on them. The fourth one is missing a small chunk (frigin square corner of a curb)

I can take closeup pics of each if you're interested. Or you can just cruise by and check them out

Just passed 7K miles on mine; rotated at 5K miles, tire pressure checked regularly, no autocrosses, just everyday commute (stop & go, not aggressive) and have less than 50% tread left..

Why not think about getting a nice performance tire (non-runflat) and wheel package from the Tire Rack. They come mounted and balanced with air in them ready to go on the car. Throw a can of fix-a-flat in the boot and motor on. You can always keep the run-flats around for long trips.

I rotated mine at around 7500 miles or so. I, like everyone else, would like for these tires to wear faster so that I can justify replacing them. I think if you rotate them every 12,500, you will probably get at least 30K if yo're not real hard on them. I rotate my own - very easy with a 3 1/2 ton hydraulic jack and four (or just 2) jackstands.

Thanks for the info. I guess I need to get them rotated today then. How do you measure the tread... Everyone is saying 50% and all... how are you coming up with that number? I guess I should start looking into another tire... I have always been a fan of dunlops... Any suggestions?

I got about 13K out of the fronts before they needed a change. I probably could have gotten another 3 to 5K of "normal" driving out of them, but they started loosing their grip. They'd probably last longer if I wasn't such a fun loving driver.

Check out TireRack. Tell it you're shopping for tires for a Cooper and it will make a couple of recommendations, a few of which are Dunlops.

With my 11K and your 13K for a total of about 24,000 miles then, right? Were you rotating them at all?
