I'm wondering if the "black" paint on the assetto gara is more glossy, or more flat? Alex@tirerack said it was satin/eggshell... so somewhere in between?

It's hard to tell from pics, even the couple I found actually on cars.

Tough to find relatively lightweight wheels with 1 bolt pattern in black that aren't $200+ a wheel!

 

My educated guess is that it is more matte finish than glossy. I have a set of the Assetto Gara in Red. The red ones are matte/eggshell finish. My one complaint is that brake dust is somewhat more difficult to remove from this type of matte finish.

A close approximation of the texture of the wheels is the flat plastic of a computer monitor or keyboard.

of course, your mileage may vary.

 

Ahhh thanks for the comparison. I'm imagining the surface to be a little rough then, if you have trouble cleaning off brake dust.

I'm a little resistant to order them. Keeping my eyes open on the marketplace and for any new, gloss, stuff.

 

I have them and definately no gloss finish. Satin or matte would better describe them.
