Are the Yokohama AVS ES100's run flats or not? are they any good, because I have to get new tires soon, and I am liking the price of these ones, and they have a good rating. thanks for the input.

They're not runflats, but are reputed to be a pretty good value in a performance tire.

I think they are a great street performance tire. When running canyons or other spirited driving situations, they do need a minute or 2 to warm up nicely, but then they get pleasantly sticky.

For my daily driving and fun runs, they are a great choice, especially at the price!

I'm running 215/45/17's

I think they are great as well. Good on wet or dry roads. Just don't even think about using them in snow or ice though!

I have them and I think they are great. they slip just the right amount for me, and grip nicely when warmed up. I took them for a run today

The Yokohama AVS ES100s I have are non runflats in 215/45-17 and I have them mounted on aftermarket 17x7 rims. Due to the square shoulders they do run a little on the rear wheel wells with two passengers in the rear seat (I have H-sport springs). I have driven on mine for 4000 miles with no problems.

They are a common upgrade for the MINI due to the sizes available and the decent price. 215/40-17 probably would not rub in my case but the load ratings would be less. I have no rubbing with one or two people in the MINI.

Overall the ES100 gives good grip in wet or dry, wears reasonably well, are moderate in weight, are not noisy and give a smooth ride for me. They perform fine for street, autocross and some light track duty. They are not for snow.

If you need to talk to someone about the ES100s try Alex@tirerack.
