Looks very nice to me... kinda got a little deep-dish look to it. I like it!

d-mini-ero 02-06-2004 07:00 PM

I'm a.... 5 spoke.... kinda dude...so I like it

Peace
D

mcs22004 02-06-2004 07:48 PM

I like the lip, but the spokes have been done by everyone else. This is probably similar to the kind of wheel for which I am going to settle. Similar to the mystery wheels I posted here.

buz 02-06-2004 07:56 PM

Nice wheels. Strong sculptural qualities. Five of five on the cool scale.
Who has 'em, how much $, what sizes?

modmanmini 02-06-2004 08:15 PM

price? weight? I love them, they look like the wheels I have, but with more of a lip to them. where did you find them?

'*Ace*' 02-06-2004 08:32 PM

Found them HERE.

I emailed the company about info like wieght and such.

They are cheapo wheels, but I love them either way. They cost $499 with tires!!! They also come in silver. I will post more info when it comes to me. I am trying to find out some info from a CRX club that had a topic going a while ago. I will keep you informed.

I like it. What is the offset? Let us know the weight too...

asodestrom 02-07-2004 07:03 AM

While you're at their site you can get coilovers for $59 bucks

mcs22004 02-07-2004 07:40 AM

My winter cheapos are similar:

kenchan 02-07-2004 07:41 AM

looks good.

Im not too big on the center caps but you can always take them off.
I like flush caps, so...but that's just me.

mcs22004- i wish ASA made those in 16's.

The wheels look good. Nice anthracite finish plus deep dish. Good price too.
That last picture is not a MINI and the rotors are quite rusted.

'*Ace*' 02-07-2004 12:26 PM

Yeah its some dude's Civic coupe...

'*Ace*' 02-10-2004 10:34 AM

17x7
Weight is 18lbs.
Come with Kumho tires.

I'm going to ditch my Ground Control set-up for a set of those babies. I could probably sell the GC stuff for twice that price and I could make a profit.

rfibanez 02-10-2004 08:16 PM

They kinda look like volk gram lights...500 with tires you can't beat that price!

'*Ace*' 02-10-2004 08:26 PM

...then there is $120 for shipping...$50 for insurance...and then $120 if you want wider tires. Still a good price in my opinion...

MartyR 02-12-2004 02:05 PM

Ace,

I'm not sure if this is correct, but I think there's a load rating issue with 205/40s instead of the stock 205/45s. You might want to research this further, but that's still a HELL of a dela and sweet wheels to boot.

Marty

Anybody know if this will be an issue?

Why are you guys making fun of the ad. According to the add they are "driver approved". This is a certified driver, who has gone through extensive training on how to drive a car. He has taken both a written and driving test and has even received a certificate indicating that he is approved to drive a DOT certified vehicle on public roads. I don't think you realize the implications of this. Without this approval, VAOS would have never released this product to the general public.

They also make use of the strongest materials. Some have said that they incorporate secret rocket technology from NASA, but that is all heresay.

macncheese 02-16-2004 07:12 AM

Cool wheels but universal lug patterns are icky.

modmanmini 02-16-2004 08:02 AM

205/40 have too low a load rating for the mini, I would go with a 215/45/17, or a 205/45/17 if sticking to stock. I think that the 205/40/17 must be a real deal for wheel sellers to get, cause every package deal has them listed as the tires included!

cheers, jason

Storer 02-16-2004 08:48 AM

Since I don't know jack s* about wheels, can someone give me a briefing on the load rating? Thanks

Alex@tirerack 02-16-2004 02:37 PM

load is derived from OE tire size( by volume, not spec) inflated to OE pressure.

S cars - 1130 lbs (195/55/16 @ 33 psi)

Non S - 1050 lbs (175/65/15 @30 psi)

What ever replacment tire you select must be able to bear the above figures. Your replacments may use full 36 PSI (max load achived on euro metric tires) to achive these #'s. If so running 36 psi is mandated.
